Technology, media and telecommunications investment management
Contour Asset Management
Contour Asset Management is a long/short equity investment manager focused on technology, media and telecommunications (TMT). It invests globally in equities and derivatives, seeking risk-adjusted returns independent of market direction. Its investment scope includes related services, distribution channels and businesses whose core processes depend on information technology.
Contour’s strategy centers on how technological change creates opportunities for companies that lead or adapt quickly, and risks for those constrained by older technology or financial commitments. It combines industry-level research with detailed analysis of individual companies to understand those changes over a longer horizon. The firm applies this research to both long and short investments, aiming for a portfolio whose returns come primarily from investment selection rather than broad market movements.
Established in 2010, Contour is led by principal and portfolio manager David Meyer. Meyer covered software, IT services and hardware at Morgan Stanley’s Investment Management Group from 1998 to 2004, then joined Brummer & Partners as a technology analyst for its Zenit Fund. He moved to Manticore Capital in 2005 as a senior member of the investment team before Contour’s inception. Brummer & Partners, a Swedish alternative investment manager, holds a minority ownership stake in Contour.
The firm’s team includes Hari Kumar, who joined as head of AI and data science in February 2026. Kumar previously worked on Meta’s data science team, focusing on recommendation algorithms and growth prediction, after working in Boston Consulting Group’s technical enablement pillar.
