JPMorgan Chase provides banking, payments, investment and wealth management services through its Chase and J.P. Morgan brands. It serves consumers, businesses, institutions and governments. In 2025, its consumer bank served 86.6 million consumers and 7.4 million small businesses, offering products that include credit cards, mortgages and self-directed investing.

For businesses, J.P. Morgan Access provides digital treasury tools for managing working capital. Its Payments Developer Portal offers a sandbox for building and testing APIs to accept, manage and send payments. The commercial and investment bank also provides financing, advice, markets and securities services.

The company traces its history to the Manhattan Company, founded in 1799 to supply water to New York City. A clause in its charter allowed it to open a bank using excess capital. The Bank of the Manhattan Company merged with Chase National Bank in 1955; Chase Manhattan then merged with J.P. Morgan & Co. in 2000. The company’s 2025 annual report names Jamie Dimon as chairman and CEO.

JPMorgan Chase uses predictive AI and machine learning in areas including credit, operations and fraud. Its internal LLM Suite, released to eligible employees in 2024, provides access to language models for tasks such as drafting and idea generation. The company reported 200,000 onboarded users within eight months.

The company also applies AI to client and operational work. In its 2025 commercial and investment bank letter, it reported that AI helped transaction-screening teams review more than twice the volume while halving manual operator checks. Corporate treasury clients also have access to a cash-flow forecasting tool for managing liquidity.
