In mid-September, the release of Jev kicked off a new category of AI models: decision models. Instead of generating text, a decision model answers bounded questions (which tool to call, which route to take, whether an action is safe) and returns a typed answer with a calibrated confidence.

In this talk, we'll cover what decision models are, why everyone is excited about them, and how they work. We'll then share how we're building open, multimodal decision models for the edge on top of our LFM architecture. We'll close with a live demo of a multimodal decision model running fully on-device.
