AI agents are moving beyond reasoning and generation toward taking real-world actions on behalf of users. This shift requires a new infrastructure layer for identity, authorization, trust, credentials, and execution. Drawing on Visa’s work on Visa Intelligent Commerce (VIC), this session explores how these primitives are being designed for autonomous agents — how an agent proves who it is, demonstrates user intent, accesses credentials securely, and interacts with external systems safely.
We’ll discuss the emerging infrastructure stack needed to move agents from assistants to trusted actors in the real world.
