Stronger Models, Leaner Harnesses: What to Control and What to Let Go

November 6 · 13:55-14:15 · Main stage →

Shanghai time (UTC+8) · Tentative program; changes will be communicated.

The same model can produce very different success rates, costs, latency and risk depending on its agent harness. Drawing on MiniMax Code, this talk examines how tool discovery, cache behavior and execution gates shape those outcomes. Two production examples cover discovering app tools at CLI invocation rather than injecting every tool on every turn, and using file timestamps to prevent writes before reads. The talk also asks which prompts and planning constraints can be removed as models improve, and which boundaries still need to be enforced by the execution layer.
