Venture Studio and Early-Stage Investment

AlleyCorp

AlleyCorp builds new companies and invests in early-stage startups in New York and internationally. Its venture studio gives entrepreneurs support from company formation onward: it originates ideas, recruits teams, supplies initial funding and launches businesses while retaining an ongoing leadership role. Its investment business primarily backs pre-seed and seed rounds, with selected Series A investments, across diversified technology, healthcare, robotics and economic infrastructure.

Founded and led by Kevin Ryan, AlleyCorp’s company-building history includes MongoDB, Business Insider, Gilt Groupe, Zola and Nomad Health.

AlleyCorp closed AlleyCorp Fund II at $335 million in 2026, following its first $250 million fund raised from outside investors. In July 2026, the firm reported eight unicorns in its portfolio. Its incubation Transcend Therapeutics became wholly owned by Otsuka America in June 2026: Otsuka paid $700 million for all outstanding shares, with up to $525 million in additional consideration contingent on future sales.
