Consumer purchase data and behavioral intelligence

Ario

Ario provides behavioral intelligence for brands using consumers’ consented, SKU-level purchase data across retailers. Its records include product variants, sizes, prices, and quantities, helping teams understand spending beyond their own stores. Brand Vitals analyzes buyers, brand switching, and loyalty; Industry Pulse provides research on consumer goods trends. Ask Ario lets users query purchase data in plain language and receive answers with charts and supporting sources.

Co-founders include CEO Sumit Agarwal and Mengmeng Chen, who previously held leadership roles at Shape Security. Ario’s technical approach extends from retrieving transaction records to constructing behavioral profiles from purchase histories. In an exploratory 2026 study, it tested these digital twins against human survey responses. The small, single-retailer study examined predictions of behavior and product opinions, while identifying packaging preferences as a limitation.

Ario Link brings the data connection into brands’ apps, emails, and loyalty programs. Customers opt in to connect external accounts, and transactions flow into CRM or personalization systems with a consent audit trail. Businesses can choose a 12-month historical extract or a 12-month forward subscription with weekly updates. Researchers can also append purchase histories to survey responses, connecting what respondents say with what they bought.
