Cherrypick makes a meal-planning and grocery-shopping app for home cooks. It recommends recipes around dietary preferences, turns ingredients into a supermarket basket, and lets shoppers add household essentials to the same order. Supermarkets handle delivery or in-store collection. Users can also import recipes from photos or web addresses, connecting their own meal choices with the weekly shop.
The company’s founders include CEO Tom Foster-Carter and CTO Chris Parsons. Its engineering combines pantry prediction, which estimates ingredients shoppers already have, with an LLM meal planner that selects recipes and explains its choices. Customers can override pantry predictions. In his 2024 engineering account, Parsons described restricting the planner’s recipe context by dietary requirements, validating returned recipe identifiers, and using food-expert reviews to assess meal combinations and nutritional balance.
Cherrypick reported more than 330,000 households on its platform in June 2024. It introduced paid Cherrypick Plus and Cherrypick Pro subscriptions that year while retaining a free tier with selected recipes.
