Enterprise data and AI governance

Collibra

Collibra builds a data and AI governance platform for enterprise data teams, AI developers and risk managers. Its products help organizations discover data, track its origins and relationships, monitor quality, manage privacy workflows and oversee AI models, agents and use cases. It serves industries including financial services, healthcare and retail, where data spans many systems and regulatory requirements shape how it can be used.

A central part of Collibra’s approach is an ontology: a knowledge graph connecting business concepts and their relationships, such as customers, contracts, products and policies. That structure gives people and AI systems context beyond a dataset’s contents—what terms mean, where data came from, its quality and the rules governing access. Collibra applies this context across data platforms, models and agents without requiring organizations to move their underlying data into a single platform.

Founded in Belgium in 2008, Collibra has expanded from data governance into AI oversight and document preparation. Its July 2025 acquisition of Deasy Labs added technology that discovers taxonomies and enriches documents with structured metadata for AI assistants, search and other applications. Its unstructured-data offering organizes SharePoint content, emails and PDFs, filtering sensitive or outdated material before it reaches AI systems. On October 5, 2026, Collibra also announced its acquisition of trail ML to extend AI governance automation, continuous assessment and runtime control.
