Emergence builds AI agents and orchestration software for enterprises automating workflows and working with complex data. Its Orchestrator coordinates multiple autonomous agents at runtime across domains, while its natural-language agent builder lets users create multi-agent systems without code. Its technical approach combines language models with a formally verified control layer that checks execution against constraints, aiming to make automation suitable for mission-critical operations.

The company’s co-founders are Satya Nitta, now executive chairman, Ravi Kokku, CTO, and Sharad Sundararajan, CPO; Ian Eslick is CEO. Its work spans Agent-E, a web-control agent released in 2024, and Emergence World, a research environment for studying agents operating continuously for weeks. Persistent memories, reflective diaries and relationship tracking let researchers examine behavioral drift and interactions over time, beyond performance on isolated tasks.

Emergence licenses its agents to customers and charges additional fees for customization. It builds on foundation models rather than training large language models itself. Semiconductor yield analysis and new-product ramp-up were in advanced pilot stages in 2026. In 2025, Russell AI Labs announced a strategic partnership and a $300 million stake in Emergence, without disclosing an ownership percentage or whole-company valuation.
