Evil Martians is a design and engineering consultancy for developer tools, AI, infrastructure, and cybersecurity startups. Its designers and engineers embed with client teams to build prototypes, develop products, and address performance and scaling. AI work includes agent orchestration, LLM integrations, and MCP infrastructure. Its own tools include AnyCable for WebSocket infrastructure, imgproxy for image optimization, and AgentPrism for visualizing agent traces during debugging.

Co-founders Alexander Tishchenko and Yaroslav Markin serve as executive vice president and CTO, respectively; Irina Nazarova is CEO. The company’s engineering contributions include PostCSS, whose plugin architecture lets developers extend CSS processing, and Autoprefixer, which automates vendor prefixes. Andrey Sitnik created Autoprefixer in 2013, developing PostCSS after needing more control over CSS parsing. Evil Martians also builds AI harnesses that encode application architecture, conventions, and constraints into coding agents, including skills for Rails teams.

In 2026, the company reported a 50-person team, approximately 40 startup engagements annually, mostly from seed to Series B, and more than 100 open source projects with over 25 billion cumulative downloads. Its published consulting rate was $7,000 per specialist per week. Separately, its 2025 PostCSS retrospective reported 400 million monthly package downloads for PostCSS and 100 million for Autoprefixer.
