Enterprise data, analytics and AI services
EXL
EXL provides data, analytics and AI services for enterprises in insurance, healthcare, banking and other industries. Its work connects analytical models with business operations: identifying risk, understanding customers and improving processes such as medical claims review. EXL combines industry expertise with data management, modeling and automation, using accelerators that work with clients’ existing infrastructure. The company reported $2.09 billion in revenue for 2025.
Founded in 1999 by Vikram Talwar and Rohit Kapoor, EXL began as a business process outsourcing provider serving banking, financial services and insurance companies. Its early work included insurance claims processing, loan servicing and collections. The acquisition of Inductis in 2006 expanded its data and analytics capabilities. That operational background remains relevant to its AI products: ClaimsAssist.ai, for example, is designed to automate property and casualty insurance claims workflows, connecting AI to the processes insurers use to handle claims and pay customers.
EXL’s enterprise AI portfolio addresses the work around building and using models. EXLdata.ai prepares and governs data for AI; EXLerate.ai includes tools for building agents and governing their deployment. EXLdecision.ai uses specialized agents across data preparation, feature engineering, model development, testing and monitoring. In June 2026, EXL agreed to acquire iMerit, which specializes in model training, evaluation and reinforcement learning. The announced transaction would add model-development expertise and human feedback capabilities to EXL’s enterprise AI work.
