AI tax preparation, review, and planning software
Filed builds AI software for accounting firms to prepare, review, and plan tax returns within their existing tools. Its Prowork assistant runs beside tax software and as an Excel add-in, preparing returns from client documents, checking figures against their sources, and generating workpapers. The Tax Planner evaluates client situations, proposes strategies with cited sources and risks, and creates client-ready presentations.
Co-founded by CEO Leroy Kerry and Atul Ramachadran, Filed operated as Numiro before rebranding in 2025. Its team studied accounting firms and offshore teams in 2024, then publicly launched Filed in 2025. Prowork’s distinctive mechanism is a firm-specific Playbook: corrections expressed in plain English become reusable instructions called Protocols. These capture preferences and workflows for subsequent returns, while the firm’s data is excluded from training shared models.
Filed works alongside CCH Axcess, UltraTax, Lacerte, Drake, and ProConnect, allowing firms to retain their tax software. It charges a flat platform fee with unlimited usage, including review, workpapers, and planning. In August 2026, the company reported that hundreds of firms ran Filed within their existing systems.
