Digital musculoskeletal care and virtual physical therapy

Hinge Health

Hinge Health provides virtual physical therapy and personalized care for joint and muscle pain. Its app combines guided exercises with a care team that includes physical therapists, health coaches and orthopedic specialists. Members receive movement feedback and exercise plans that adapt to their symptoms. The company also offers pelvic floor therapy and Enso, an FDA-cleared device for drug-free pain relief.

Co-founders Daniel Perez and Gabriel Mecklenburg lead the company as CEO and CTO, respectively; Perez has held the CEO role since 2014. Its TrueMotion computer vision pipeline runs directly on members’ phones or tablets, mapping body positions in two and three dimensions for exercise tracking, movement assessments and corrective guidance. A personalized exercise engine combines health history, risk profiles, pain scores and movement feedback to adjust treatment plans under care-team oversight.

Hinge Health earns most of its revenue from self-insured employers through annual subscriptions that charge for members who engage with its programs. The company reported 2,929 clients as of June 2026. It completed its IPO in 2025 and trades on the NYSE as HNGE. In August 2026, it announced a definitive agreement to acquire Cylinder Health for $105 million in cash, with closing subject to customary conditions and expected in the third quarter. An integrated gastrointestinal care program is expected in 2027.
