AI inference and coding-agent verification

Kalmantic Labs

Kalmantic Labs builds inference infrastructure and tools for software teams working with coding agents. Its two central offerings, jusInfer and OpenFactoryAI, are in beta. jusInfer routes jobs to suitable models; OpenFactoryAI runs locally and coordinates Claude Code, Codex and jusInfer-backed builders. It assigns code checking to a different vendor from the builder and records verification results in an append-only ledger, separating generation from verification while retaining corrections for subsequent work.

The company’s co-founders are Thiyagarajan Maruthavanan, CEO; Kashi KS, CTO; and Ananya George, head of partnerships and business. Its research extends verification to understanding existing software. LegacyCodeBench, published in 2026, evaluates AI-generated documentation by extracting behavioral claims and testing them through execution of the original COBOL programs. Its corpus covers 200 programs across four complexity tiers, making code comprehension—not just code generation—a concrete evaluation target.

Kalmantic describes an internal operation of three humans and twelve agents, running through jusInfer on a single DGX Spark. In posts visible in August 2026, the company reported thousands of users for jusCode and 2,800+ weekly downloads for TokenTopper, its local command-line tool for measuring coding-agent usage and estimated costs. Its listed investors include Anindo Gupta, Abhishek Talwar and Upekkha.

When ownership becomes worthwhile

Maruthavanan recommends renting while validating product-market fit, then considering ownership when enterprise cost control and autonomy from rate limits become material.
