Data streaming development and governance

Lenses.io

Lenses.io builds development and governance software for engineers and AI agents working with real-time data across Apache Kafka clusters. Its Operating Fabric combines data discovery, SQL exploration, stream processing, connector management and access controls. Developers can build and operate streaming applications through a UI, IDE, API or MCP, while platform teams manage permissions and auditing across multiple Kafka environments. The product family includes DevX AI for data exploration and application delivery, K2K Replicator for moving data between Kafka vendors, and open-source connectors for bringing data into and out of Kafka.

Co-founders Antonios Chalkiopoulos, Christina Daskalaki, Andrew Stevenson and Stefan Bocutiu created Lenses to help engineers access, move and transform Kafka data. Guillaume Aymé is its current CEO. The company traces its Kafka open-source contributions to 2016. Its Lenses SQL engineering work translates SQL into Kafka Streams applications, supporting filtering, aggregation and joins. The engine builds a processing topology and optimizes an execution plan, allowing developers to express streaming transformations in SQL.

Lenses.io became part of Celonis through a completed acquisition in 2021. By that year, enterprise adopters included Daimler, Playtika, Bouygues Telecom, Generali and Schneider Electric. Lenses had signed several Fortune 100 customers within months of its product launch.
