AI investment research and financial data
LinqAlpha
LinqAlpha builds AI investment-research tools for hedge funds, asset managers and other financial institutions. LinqAlpha Terminal brings market data, company filings, earnings transcripts and internal datasets into one workspace. Its agents chain research steps together: interpreting a question, pulling market data, searching primary documents and running computations, then returning analysis linked to its sources. The company also lets investment teams deploy specialized agents that use their own investment frameworks and accumulated research as context.
Developers can access LinqAlpha’s financial data through its REST API and MCP integration. The API supports applications; MCP connects AI assistants such as Claude and ChatGPT to tools for financial statements, analyst estimates, economic indicators and primary documents across 139+ countries. The assistant selects tools in response to a question—for example, comparing two companies’ operating margins over eight quarters or finding companies that mentioned tariffs in earnings calls—and returns sourced answers.
Research: finding the right financial evidence
LinqAlpha’s research includes benchmarks for testing whether AI systems can find the evidence needed to answer financial questions. FinDER contains 5,703 expert-annotated question–evidence–answer examples drawn from annual 10-K filings and questions submitted by industry professionals. It tests retrieval-augmented generation against the short, acronym-heavy and sometimes ambiguous queries analysts actually use. FinAgentBench, also listed among the company’s research publications, separates two decisions: choosing the relevant document type and locating the passage that answers the question. Its 26,000 expert-annotated examples cover S&P 500 companies, allowing researchers to evaluate those steps separately rather than treating retrieval as a single search result.
Founding and institutional adoption
Founded in 2022, LinqAlpha’s founders are Jacob Chanyeol Choi, Subeen Pang, Jin Kim and Hojun Choi; Jacob Chanyeol Choi and Hojun Choi serve as co-CEOs. On July 2, 2026, the company announced a $22 million Series A and reported serving more than 70 financial institutions across the United States, Europe and Asia. It named Causeway Capital Management and Schonfeld Strategic Advisors among its clients and described users spanning investment-bank sales, trading and research teams as well as investment managers.
