AI for dental revenue cycle management

Onlay

Onlay builds AI agents for dental revenue cycle management, helping dental practices and dental service organizations handle insurance billing within existing practice software. Its platform checks eligibility and benefits, creates and submits claims, gathers clinical attachments, follows up with payers, and posts and reconciles payments. The automation addresses repetitive administrative work between providing treatment and collecting payment.

Cofounders Vasant Kearney, the company’s CEO, Ali Saad and Mohamed Saad combine healthcare AI experience with dental practice operations. The Saad brothers’ experience running practices, including staffing shortages after COVID, helped motivate the company. Kearney previously cofounded Retrace Labs and worked as a UCSF radiation oncology medical physicist. Onlay’s agents use APIs and browser automation and generate workflow code to handle payer-specific rules across portals, clearinghouses and practice management systems. Its engineering approach includes restricted permissions, auditable action logs and human escalation when uncertainty requires review.

In August 2026, Onlay advertised coverage of more than 1,000 payer plans at multi-site scale.
