Conversational AI agents for customer experience

OutRival

OutRival builds Digital Workers, conversational AI agents for businesses handling large volumes of customer interactions. Its agents answer questions, follow up with prospects and guide tasks such as college enrollment, travel bookings and patient intake. They work across calls, SMS, voicemail and email, keeping customer context in one thread. Connections to CRM and other business systems let interactions draw on customer history, while automated callbacks and reminders help teams continue conversations beyond the initial inquiry.

The company’s no-code platform lets customer experience teams design agents and workflows without requiring an engineering background. Its model-agnostic orchestration layer connects AI models with existing business tools, and its workflow builder coordinates multi-agent processes with human oversight at critical steps. That approach grew from co-founders Ruben Harris and Timur Meyster’s work building Career Karma, the career-transition platform now part of OutRival. Their experience running customer experience teams informed a product intended to put AI development tools in the hands of staff who understand customer needs. OutRival initially focused on higher-education admissions.

Penn Foster’s work with OutRival provides a concrete example: the education company uses the partnership for prospective-student outreach, re-engaging people who expressed interest but never enrolled, inbound support and post-enrollment learner support. The deployment spans both attracting students and helping them after enrollment, illustrating how OutRival’s agents fit into an ongoing customer relationship.
