Data governance and AI agent security

Privacera

Privacera provides enterprise data access governance and AI agent security, bringing both together under Trust3 AI, its new brand and platform announced in 2026. Security, compliance, and engineering teams can discover agents, trace prompts and tool calls, create policies in natural language, and enforce runtime controls. Its purpose-based authorization scopes access to individual requests, with expiring grants and native enforcement in Snowflake, Databricks, and BigQuery.

Founded in 2016, Privacera grew from its founders’ work on Apache Ranger for centralized data authorization and Apache Atlas for metadata and lineage. Balaji Ganesan is co-founder and CEO; Don Bosco Durai is co-founder and CTO. Trust3 AI also lists Neeraj Sabharwal as a co-founder. The company extended its governance approach to generative AI by open-sourcing PAIG OSS in 2024. The framework monitors LLM and retrieval-augmented generation calls, while its Milvus integration carries source-data access policies into vector retrieval.

Privacera serves Fortune 500 enterprises across sectors including finance, healthcare, retail, and technology. In 2021, customer iFood described using its access controls across Databricks and AWS and attribute-level encryption to share sensitive data with analytics teams. Privacera raised a $50 million Series B led by Insight Partners that year.
