AI analytics and feature engineering

Rasgo

Rasgo developed software for preparing machine-learning data and analyzing enterprise data warehouses. Its documented AI copilot lets users ask questions in natural language and create specialized agents with business-domain instructions. The platform supports Snowflake and BigQuery, translating warehouse metadata for large language models while keeping data in the warehouse. These capabilities connect data preparation with conversational analysis.

Founded in 2020 by Jared Parker and Patrick Dougherty, then CEO and CTO respectively, Rasgo initially focused on a feature store that helped data scientists explore, clean, join and transform data into machine-learning features. Its Snowflake integration brought that workflow to the data warehouse. Customers included energy company AES, which used Rasgo to create and serve features, and Chisholm Financial Labs, which used it to track features supporting trading strategies.

Rasgo also offered PyRasgo, a free feature-engineering tool; the company reported more than 70,000 downloads by June 2021. Its subsequent ownership status is unclear: a January 2026 profile described Rasgo as sold, while Parker’s own account discusses a potential acquirer without confirming a completed transaction. The surviving copilot documentation advertises a design-partner waitlist, rather than establishing broad commercial availability.

Recognizing when the schema cannot answer

Dougherty contrasts GPT-4o inventing an unsupported customer-churn SQL query with o1 recognizing that the Salesforce schema lacks the necessary data. The example highlights a failure mode in which generating a query masks missing information.
