CRM, enterprise AI agents, and data platforms

Salesforce

Salesforce provides cloud customer relationship management software for sales, service, marketing and commerce teams, from small businesses to global enterprises. Its applications help users organize customer information, manage leads and automate customer interactions. Agentforce extends these workflows with AI agents that can qualify leads and resolve service cases. The wider platform includes Data 360 for governed data, Slack for collaboration and workflows, and Tableau for analytics.

Founded in 1999 by Marc Benioff, Parker Harris, Frank Dominguez and Dave Moellenhoff, Salesforce remains led by Benioff as chair and CEO. Its AI research includes BLIP, which combines visual understanding and text generation, using generated captions and filtering to improve training data. Its LAVIS library gives researchers and practitioners shared interfaces for training, evaluating and running vision-language models, including image captioning and visual question answering.

Salesforce also supports a third-party application ecosystem through AppExchange, introduced in 2005 to connect developers’ applications with its customers. In Q2 FY2027, the company reported nearly $3.9 billion in annual recurring revenue across Agentforce and Data 360. That measure includes an expanded Agentforce definition covering its AI offerings, Slackbot and Headless 360.
