Authentication and authorization infrastructure for AI agents and SaaS

Scalekit

Scalekit builds authentication and authorization infrastructure for developers of AI agents and SaaS applications. AgentKit lets agents call external tools on a user's behalf, handling OAuth consent, credential storage and token refresh outside the model context. Its Agent Gateway routes internal agents' calls through employee identities and logs their actions. MCP authentication adds OAuth 2.1 authorization to remote Model Context Protocol servers, while SaaSKit handles application login, sessions, user and tenant management, role-based access, SSO and SCIM.

Founded in 2023 by Satya Devarakonda, CEO, and Ravi Madabhushi, CTO, Scalekit grew out of the team's work on Freshworks' authentication platform. Its engineering approach separates authorization from MCP server logic and combines delegated tool execution with per-user credentials and scoped permissions. This lets developers add identity controls without building authorization into each server's core functionality. In 2026, Scalekit joined Okta's Cross App Access ecosystem, using enterprise identity to broker scoped access to downstream tools.

Customers include Fello, SiftHub and Napkin, spanning AI applications and SaaS products adding agent features. As of August 2026, the company advertised 500-plus connectors and 8,000-plus callable actions across MCP servers and APIs. Scalekit announced a $5.5 million seed round led by Together Fund and Z47 in 2025, alongside general availability of its Auth Stack for AI Apps.

Separate the agent from whose authority it carries

Madabhushi argues for explicit principal-versus-actor separation, delegated user authorization, and fine-grained permissions that expire. User-scoped MCP tool access and visibility into agent actions extend that approach to tool use.
