Social chess and AI coaching

Take Take Take

Take Take Take is a social chess platform for players who want to improve, combining play, learning and sharing on mobile and the web. Its AI Coach automatically pulls games from Lichess; together with Game Review, it explains mistakes and missed opportunities in plain language. A social feed, medals and competitions let players share milestones, follow friends and compete over rating gains.

Founded in 2023 by Magnus Carlsen and Mats André Kristiansen, who serves as CEO, the company experimented with fantasy chess, match predictions and a spectator app before launching its combined playing and learning platform in 2026. Its Play Zone uses Lichess infrastructure: players use Lichess accounts and servers, with Lichess handling moderation. Take Take Take builds its coaching and social experience around that shared playing infrastructure.

By February 2026, the founders said it had raised NOK 90 million since inception. Patrick Collison and Anton Osika invested through a convertible loan carrying a NOK 300 million valuation cap for a future financing round; their individual investment amounts were undisclosed.
