Tavily

Tavily provides web access APIs that let developers connect AI agents to fresh online information. Its search, extraction, crawling and research tools retrieve web content and return structured chunks for language models. Developers use this infrastructure to build research assistants and applications that need information beyond a model’s training data. Revenue-agent company Rox, for example, uses Tavily for account intelligence and personalized outreach, while keeping ranking, deduplication and reasoning in its own application.

Founded in late 2024, Tavily grew from an open-source agent experiment. Its founders are CEO Rotem Weiss, Assaf Elovic and Yuval Rozio, whose founding role came through Alpha Wave Global’s incubation of the company. Tavily’s documentation describes GPT Researcher, an autonomous research agent that separates planning from execution: a planner generates questions, parallel agents gather relevant web evidence, and the results are filtered and assembled into a report. It uses Tavily as its default web retrieval service.

As of August 2026, Tavily reported more than 2 million developers and 300 million monthly requests. Nebius completed its acquisition of 100% of Tavily on February 19, 2026, bringing its search technology into the Nebius AI cloud business. Nebius’s June 2026 financial statements recorded $189.4 million in acquisition consideration, with employment-contingent payments accounted for separately as compensation.
