AI Site Reliability Engineering
Traversal builds an AI site reliability engineering platform that helps enterprise engineering teams investigate, resolve and prevent production incidents. Its capabilities span alert triage, root-cause analysis and automated remediation. Code Resilience brings production context into development to help prevent failures, while Production Support lets engineers query live production conditions in natural language, drawing on telemetry, code and organizational knowledge.
Traversal’s founders are Anish Agarwal, its CEO, Raaz Dwivedi, Raj Agrawal and Ahmed Lone. Its technical approach combines AI agents with causal machine learning to investigate dependencies across production systems and distinguish underlying failures from downstream symptoms. Its research team also developed ORCA-Bench with Columbia University and Cornell Tech: a public benchmark containing 1,079 root-cause-analysis tasks. Agents investigate a running application using live telemetry and source code, testing operational diagnosis rather than code repair alone.
The company reports that its Cloudways deployment covers 845,000-plus customer applications and more than 125,000 annual investigations, as listed on its website in August 2026. Traversal emerged from stealth in 2025 with $48 million in funding led by Kleiner Perkins and Sequoia. A $5 million investment from Amex Ventures in March 2026 accompanied American Express’s commercial deployment, bringing cumulative funding to roughly $53 million.

Affiliations reflect their AIE appearances, not necessarily current employment.
The presenters examined shortcomings of observability dashboards, conventional AIOps, standalone LLMs, and runbook-dependent agents, then described an approach combining causal machine learning, semantic reasoning, and coordinated agent swarms.
