Vibe Kanban

Vibe Kanban helps software engineers coordinate coding agents and review their output. It integrates with tools including Claude Code and Codex, letting developers run agents in parallel or sequentially, inspect diffs, send inline feedback, preview applications, and create pull requests. Each workspace uses a separate Git worktree and branch to isolate changes, making the product an interface for planning and reviewing agent work.

Founded in 2021 by Louis Knight-Webb and Gabriel Gordon-Hall, the company behind Vibe Kanban was known as bloop, with Knight-Webb serving as CEO and Gordon-Hall as CTO. Its earlier product combined semantic code search with code navigation; Vibe Kanban launched in 2025. The team's engineering experiments explored simpler coding agents: a Claude 4 Sonnet agent used only bash and a text-editing tool, with repeated reminders to make parallel tool calls reducing the steps needed to solve problems.

In April 2026, the company reported that thousands of software engineers used Vibe Kanban daily, but most were free users. Unable to find a satisfactory business model, bloop announced its shutdown, with Vibe Kanban continuing as an open-source, community-maintained project. Subscriptions were terminated and invoices paid within the preceding 30 days refunded. Hosted services were scheduled to end after 30 days as the project transitioned to a fully local architecture; local workspaces would continue functioning.
