Chinmay Goyal

Conference affiliation: Software Engineer · Glean · 2026

Chinmay Goyal is a software engineer at Glean. He builds both the parts of Glean Assistant and Glean’s AI agents that people interact with and the backend systems that support those interactions.

Chinmay earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science at IIT Kanpur. At the institute’s C3i Lab, he worked on selective USB access for Linux. He used product IDs to distinguish which devices a machine should allow and helped distribute rule changes centrally so administrators could update the policy across machines.

During a 2020 internship at SuperGaming, Chinmay worked on Bull Fight, an online multiplayer strategy game built in Unity. He changed core game mechanics in C# and designed the experience for first-time players, with the aim of giving them a reason to return.

At Tower Research Capital in 2021, his internship research focused on modeling market behavior. Chinmay built classification and regression models and compared their performance using precision–recall curves and F-scores alongside a profit–loss ratio. The ratio gave him a way to compare the financial implications of the models’ predictions as well as their predictive performance.
