Ramakrishnan Lokanathan

Ramakrishnan Lokanathan founded eSlams, a public arena for games between people and AI models. He previously founded and sold an applied AI company. Its successor in his research, eSlams, takes a different approach to model evaluation. The open-source engine lets developers examine individual turns and replay matches. A game of chess exposes planning over a visible board, while poker tests decisions with information missing.

Lokanathan also works on evaluation for applications where an error has consequences beyond a scoreboard. He recommends deriving tests from the result promised to a user, retaining examples of earlier successes, and turning failures observed in production into tests of the next release.
