AI engineering · agents & skills

Roberto Milev

Navan · 2026

Roberto Milev is chief architect at Navan, where his work spans AI, platform design and product architecture. He applies lessons from distributed systems to agents that must maintain state, execute tools and act within a user’s authority.

In his joint work with Uday Kanagala, Milev emphasizes starting with a simple agent loop, making skills independently testable, and evaluating the path an agent takes to a result. Authorization and observability remain architectural concerns when software can make decisions on a traveler’s behalf.
