Observability, application security, and AI-powered operations

Dynatrace

Dynatrace builds an observability platform that helps enterprises understand how their applications and infrastructure behave across cloud and on-premises environments. Its products serve developers, site reliability engineers, platform teams, and security teams, with customers spanning manufacturing, technology, and retail. The platform brings together monitoring, application security, and digital experience analysis. OneAgent automatically discovers and instruments applications, microservices, infrastructure, and their dependencies; Smartscape maps the relationships among those components so teams can investigate a problem in the context of the systems around it.

That connection between operational data and system relationships underpins Dynatrace Intelligence, which combines deterministic, causal analysis with AI agents that reason and act on environment-specific context. Grail stores metrics, logs, traces, events, user sessions, and business and security data, while Smartscape supplies a continuously updated dependency graph. Together, these give agents context for investigating incidents and coordinating remediation. Dynatrace supports a progression from recommendations to supervised automation and more autonomous operations with controls. Its Cloud SRE Agent coordinates remediation across cloud environments and keeps findings in an auditable record, with human approval and intervention where required.

Founded in 2005 in Linz, Austria, by Bernd Greifeneder and Sok-Kheng Taing, Dynatrace redesigned its platform for cloud-native environments in 2015 and went public in 2019. On October 1, 2026, it completed its acquisition of Arize, adding AI observability and evaluation capabilities. Arize continues supporting its open-source Phoenix and enterprise AX platforms; integration into Dynatrace is planned over time. The combination extends the company's scope from operating software infrastructure to evaluating model and agent behavior during development and production.
