Google Labs

Google Labs develops and tests AI products within Google, giving users early access and a way to influence their development. Its tools serve creators, developers and businesses: Flow combines image generation, video creation and editing; Flow Music helps users create original songs; and Pomelli produces marketing content aligned with a business’s brand. Stitch turns natural-language ideas into interface designs, while Jules automates coding tasks such as bug fixes, tests and new features.

Google introduced the modern public Labs in 2023, drawing inspiration from the original Google Labs. Josh Woodward now leads the organization alongside the Gemini app and AI Studio. Its work includes Opal, which translates natural-language instructions into editable visual workflows connecting prompts, models and tools. Another Labs graduate, Gemini Notebook, began as Project Tailwind and was formerly called NotebookLM. It grounds research in users’ sources, with a secure cloud computer enabling code execution for deeper data analysis.

In July 2026, Google reported that Gemini Notebook was used by more than 30 million people and over 600,000 organizations. For Flow, Google reported over 1.5 billion images and videos created by February 2026, cumulatively since its 2025 launch, across projects including films, music videos and product campaigns.
