Millennium

Millennium is a global alternative investment firm that manages capital for investors across asset classes and geographies. Its investment strategies span fundamental equities, equity arbitrage, fixed income, commodities, quantitative investing and credit. Investment professionals use the firm’s technology, resources and risk framework to pursue specialized approaches, including company research and systematically driven investment processes.

Israel Englander founded Millennium in 1989 and remains chairman and chief executive officer. Its technology organization brings together software engineers, quantitative modelers, data scientists and AI experts. Investment teams work with internal specialists to customize commercial and proprietary AI tools for their particular workflows. An internal AI lab, launched in 2026, provides infrastructure separate from production systems for experimenting with technologies that are not yet enterprise-ready.

Millennium reported more than $97 billion in assets under management and over 7,000 employees as of August 2026. Its AI work extends into risk management: in 2026, Millennium and Anthropic announced plans to co-develop a digital risk analyst. The proposed supervised AI teammate would analyze exposures, explain daily risk changes and retain information across interactions to support human risk managers.
