AI workflow automation and open-source developer infrastructure
Mozilla.ai builds AI workflow software and open-source infrastructure for organizations and developers. Octonous lets people describe tasks for AI agents to execute across connected applications, review actions before they run, and schedule recurring work. Otari gives engineering teams a control plane for routing requests across LLM providers, enforcing budgets, and managing access. Available in hosted or self-hosted environments, it brings operational controls into one place instead of requiring teams to rebuild them for each application.
Mozilla launched the company in 2023, initially led by managing director Moez Draief; its current CEO is John Dickerson. Its engineering work emphasizes interchangeable components and portable execution. The any-agent library lets developers run and compare agent frameworks through one interface, while any-llm provides a common interface across model providers. Encoderfile packages tokenizers and model weights into self-contained executables, reducing the runtime infrastructure needed to deploy encoder models.
Mozilla committed an initial $30 million investment at launch. As of 2026, Mozilla.ai describes a distributed team spanning more than six countries and a SaaS business working toward product-market fit. Since the 2026 restructuring, Mozilla.org owns Mozilla’s operating subsidiaries within the Mozilla Foundation umbrella, placing Mozilla.ai within that nonprofit ownership structure.
