Developer infrastructure and AI coding environments
Namespace provides managed infrastructure for software teams and AI coding agents to build, test, and run code across macOS, Windows, and Linux. Devbox environments let users connect an IDE, capture screens, run iOS simulators, and execute agents or parallel tests on ephemeral or persistent compute. Its GitHub Actions runners integrate with existing workflows, while Bazel Remote Execution distributes build and test actions across workers and exposes execution reports through a UI and an API.
Co-founder and CEO Hugo Santos started Namespace at the end of 2021 after working as a principal engineer at Google. The company initially built Foundation, a service-development platform combining builds, tests, and deployment, before pivoting toward managed developer compute in 2023. Its engineering approach combines owned hardware with custom storage, networking, and scheduling. Cache Volumes use topology-aware snapshots and place jobs near cached data, avoiding repeated downloads and extraction of build caches.
As of August 2026, Namespace reported serving 1,000+ companies. Its infrastructure also operates underneath other developer products: Buildkite uses it for Hosted Agents, and Warp for Background Agents. Ramp, a design partner for Bazel Remote Execution, runs all its Bazel builds and tests on Namespace. These uses span internal software delivery and the compute behind customer-facing agent platforms.

Affiliations reflect their AIE appearances, not necessarily current employment.
The discussion proposes layering infrastructure onto existing systems such as GitHub Actions, pairing agent-scale orchestration with intent-driven validation loops that preserve human acceptance of proposed changes.
Affiliations reflect each recorded session, not necessarily current employment. This is a joint discussion with Madison Faulkner of New Enterprise Associates (NEA).
