Factory

Factory builds Droids, AI agents that help enterprise engineering teams implement, test, review and maintain software. Its Factory 2.0 platform connects incoming requirements and bug reports to development, deployment and monitoring, with engineers governing how much autonomy each workflow receives. Missions coordinate multiple agents on extended tasks, Droid Computers provide persistent execution, and Factory Desktop brings agents to developers’ machines. Factory Router selects models for coding tasks, supporting a platform designed to work across models.

Founded in 2023 by Matan Grinberg and Eno Reyes, Factory is led by Grinberg as CEO. Its engineering work includes anchored iterative summarization: merging newly compressed conversation history into persistent summaries of task intent, file changes, decisions and next steps. Factory also developed probes that test whether agents retain enough context to resume work, rather than measuring summary similarity alone. In 2026, it acquired Lumetric, a team building model-agnostic AI workflows, to help develop the next generation of Factory Desktop.

In April 2026, Factory reported hundreds of thousands of developers using Droids daily, including at NVIDIA, Adobe, EY, Palo Alto Networks and Adyen. That April, it announced a $150 million Series C led by Khosla Ventures at a stated $1.5 billion valuation.
