AI commerce infrastructure

New Generation (New Gen)

New Generation (New Gen) builds commerce infrastructure for retailers serving human shoppers and AI agents. Its Kepler platform combines three products: Conversational Storefronts adds natural-language shopping to a retailer’s website; Agent Storefronts structures product content for AI systems; and AI Insights tracks customer and agent interactions, questions and intent. The platform runs alongside existing e-commerce systems, letting brands add these capabilities without replacing their storefronts.

Founded in 2024, the San Francisco company’s co-founders include CEO Adam Behrens and Jonathan Arena. Behrens previously built data platforms and products at Stripe and Bridgewater; Arena led design at Facebook, Cruise and Patreon. Its Agent Score provides a free assessment of how well AI agents navigate and shop on a retailer’s website, evaluating task completion, product-data clarity and natural-language responses.

New Gen launched Kepler in 2025. In 2025, the company reported that 150 brands had completed its free Agent Score assessment. At its public company launch, New Gen also disclosed a $4.5 million seed round closed the previous year, with backers including South Park Commons and Designer Fund.
