StarlightSearch Inc builds Pulsar, an AI-agent platform for teams creating internal tools, applications, and workflows across business management and compliance. Pulsar grounds agents in shared institutional knowledge, automatically loading relevant project files and prior decisions. Its model-agnostic harness supports open-weight models and gives agents browser, shell, and file access through a shared sandbox. Agents can also update the knowledge base with conventions, corrections, and practices learned during their work.

Led by co-founder and CEO Sonam Pankaj, Starlight Search also develops EmbedAnything, a Rust embedding pipeline with Python bindings for developers building retrieval systems. It processes text, images, audio, PDFs, and websites, then streams embeddings into vector databases. Its vector-streaming architecture separates document processing, inference, and indexing across threads rather than running them sequentially. Developers can use local or cloud embedding models; a Docker image and an OpenAI-compatible embedding API provide deployment options.

The company supports on-premises deployment for organizations keeping data within their own infrastructure. In 2025, it deployed its search product at Serpentine, a student technology group at TU/e, to test scalability and real-time responses. Pulsar adds organizational controls around this workflow: teams can scope information access by organization or project, configure tool and model permissions, and audit agent actions.
